Indirect Cost (F&A) Rate Policy for Sponsored Awards

Empower Through Health (ETH) collaborates with U.S. universities and other institutions as a subrecipient on federally sponsored research. As a nonprofit organization, ETH adheres to U.S. federal 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) regarding indirect (Facilities & Administrative, or F&A) costs.

ETH does not have a federally negotiated indirect cost rate agreement. Instead, ETH applies an established organizational indirect cost rate of 10% of Modified Total Direct Costs (MTDC) for all sponsored research subawards. This rate is consistent with federal policy for organizations without a negotiated rate and has been approved by ETH’s Board of Directors.
