Help Us Continue Providing Life-Saving Care

Launching the 2022-2023 ETH Holiday Drive

We need your help to provide healthcare services for the coming year.

Empower Through Health (ETH) is a 501(c)3 organization that currently cares for a community of over 70,000 people in rural Uganda. ETH works to not only provide medical services, but empower the world’s most vulnerable by providing healthcare, conducting research, and developing sustainable and scalable solutions to health issues in these communities. We heavily rely on individual donations to continue our work. It is only from individual contributions we have helped so many people over the past years. You can make your donation using the link below:

Mpunde Health Center Impact

The Mpunde Health Center, within the Buyende District, serves a region of over 70,000 people, many of whom still suffer from conditions modern medicine has addressed decades ago. Since opening in 2018, the Health Center has had a significant impact on the surrounding communities, including:

  • 30,996 total patients served with quality healthcare and life-saving preventative services including general medicine, vaccines and immunizations, and maternal healthcare.

  • 5362 free immunizations administered to children and adults in partnership with the Ugandan Government

  • 503 babies safely delivered by our midwife

  • 272 psychiatric patients treated since beginning psychiatric care in 2021

Over the past year, we have seen marked improvements in the quality of care we offer within the community. Through the community outreach programs that our fellows conducted over the summer, there has been an increase in psychiatric patients. We have also recently begun the development of women's therapy groups to help care for individuals struggling with anxiety and depression.

We founded Empower Through Health with the belief that no matter where people come from or who they are, there is more that unites us than separates us. Drawing upon the unique strengths and backgrounds of our members, we seek to be intercultural advocates and healers for those forgotten by the global healthcare network.

Empower Through Health relies on the contribution of individuals to finance our clinical operations. Any donation that you can offer can have a large impact in the communities in rural Uganda where we operate.

  • $1 is enough to diagnose a person with HIV

  • $10 cover costs to help two mothers deliver

  • $25 can test and treat over 40 people for malaria

  • $550 pays rent for our clinical staff

  • $1000 stocks the entire Mpunde health Center pharmacy for a month.

We are united through our common humanity and quest for dignity, companionship, and purpose. We believe that human life is precious and deserve equitable access to healthcare. Every person should be able to live in good health and have agency to determine their future. To help make this dream a reality, please help this holiday season by donating to our campaign.

Please also consider spreading our message by sharing this document with family, friends, and individuals that can make a difference. Each additional donation can have a huge impact. We are counting on your support! Sincerely, Emery Monnig (ETH-U Field Director, '22-23)
